金さん、博士号取得🎓

発生研で初めての外国人博士課程学生として、金さんが博士号を取得しました。

思い返せばこの3年間、異国での生活の中で多くの困難があったことと思いますが、それでも研究への情熱を絶やすことなく、トレニアの花粉管先端成長の仕組みを解き明かすために、前を向きながら、一つ一つ壁を乗り越えてきましたよね。

東山先生の言葉をお借りして――「大変よく頑張りました」。この言葉に、すべてが込められているように思います。

ここに改めて、博士号取得を心よりお祝い申し上げます。

今後は、発生研の特任研究員として、花粉管の成長における「制御機構」の解明に引き続き取り組みます。金さんが研究者としてさらに羽ばたいていく姿を、心から楽しみにしています。

そして、これから歩む道にも、科学の真理とフェローシップの光がいつも寄り添いますように✨

Commemorating the Ph.D. Achievement

Dr. Jin, the first international Ph.D. graduate from Higashiyama Developmental-Cell-Biology Lab, has successfully obtained her doctoral degree.

Looking back on the past three years, she undoubtedly faced many challenges while living and conducting research in a foreign country. Yet her passion for science never waned. With calm perseverance, she kept moving forward—overcoming each obstacle one by one—in her quest to reveal the mechanisms behind pollen tube tip growth in Torenia fournieri.

In the words of Professor Higashiyama: “You did such a great job — truly well done! (大変よく頑張りました)” These simple words truly capture the essence of her journey. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt congratulations on her achievement.

From now on, as a Postdoc Researcher at this Lab, she will continue her research on the regulatory mechanisms of pollen tube tip growth.
